David Banner Speaks to Big Tigger & Free About Racial Murder In Mississippi

It’s no secret that rapper/actor David Banner is proud of his home state of Mississippi.  However, a senseless act of violence took place in June that has him outraged. A group of white teens murdered a Black man named James Craig Anderson…just because he was Black.  They beat him up, and then ran over Anderson with a truck.  What’s also sad is that many across the country are not aware of this tragic hate crime.  David Banner called in to The Big Tigger Morning Show With Free to talk about the heinous situation and shed more light on a travesty that needs to be heard about. Warning: The graphic video of the crime is posted as well…

SL Jones ft. Rocko & JBar - Out Here

Over the past few weeks, SL Jones has chopped it up with MTV News' Mixtape Daily and MTV2's Sucker Free, and now, just under two weeks away from the August 23rd release date for The Number 23: Editor's Cut, SL is releasing a new song, "Out Here." The song, produced by SuperCed and featuring buzzing Atlanta rapper Rocko and SODMG member JBar, is the second of two previously unreleased tracks to be included on the re-release. Being released August 23rd, SL Jones' The Number 23: Editor's Cut will include features from Pill, Trae Tha Truth, Waka Flocka Flame, Yo Gotti, Rocko, JBar, and others, along with production from Lex Luger, Don Cannon, Shawty Redd, M16, and more.
SL's thoughts on "Out Here": "The song is produced by SuperCed with the homie JBar singing the hook and a verse from Rocko, and we're talking about the hustle and everything that comes with it. But the song isn't just about struggle; it's about believing in yourself enough to be able to step out on blind faith if you need to, enough to look past the people that doubt you, even past your own self-doubt at times. Like the saying goes, success isn't a destination, it's a journey. And so I wanted to offer a different perspective with my verse, the perspective of the have-not, the idea that when you come from the bottom you're used to not having a lot. So then is it worse to gain it and lose it or to never have it at all? I dunno, but I do know that no matter what you want to achieve in life, you gotta grind to get it."
